Groups - Biblical discipleship in relational environments.
There is no question that as you read scripture, God has hard-wired you to be in relationship. Relationships happen in our groups, and are a key component to reaching your potential as you mature in Christ. Groups are community based relational environments that meet weekly for the purpose of Biblical discipleship. They are the primary vehicle by which we carry out the vision and mission of the Western Hills Church.

What Can I Expect?
Groups meet weekly in homes or at other locations around town. Each group has an intentional leader and an assistant that lead the group through a biblically based discussion. Groups vary in size, but not in purpose. They exist to help people grow and mature in Christ. You can expect a warm, welcoming environment, you can expect great conversation, and you can expect to be received just the way you are!
Is Childcare Provided? (newborn - 8th grade)
Many of our groups are child friendly. We want to help you get connected to the right group, so make sure to let us know if you would like to join a group with childcare. Some of our groups split the costs for a babysitter, some of our groups don’t offer any type of childcare, and some make other arrangements. Click any of the group links above to find out if that group offers childcare.
Are Students Welcome? (high school)
Almost all of our groups are student friendly. Our church has a heart for the next generation of discipleship leaders. We want to encourage students as they grow through some of their most fundamental years of life. Click on any of the group links above to find out if that group is student friendly.
When and Where do Groups Meet?
Groups primarily meet in homes across the metro area. Every group chooses a different time to meet. You can click on any of the groups above to find out when and where that group meets specifically or you can click here to go to our Group Map! You can also use the sign-up form below and we will help guide you to the best group options based on your selections.
How Long do Groups Last?
There is not a set length of days, weeks, or months in a group. Groups are all about maturing in Christ. As people within each group grow and mature, we believe it is our responsibility to release them, enabling them to go and be disciple makers. It is one of the most celebrated times of our Groups when we branch a group, sending folks out to grow and expand the kingdom of God. This is the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) being carried out!
What Will My Group Study?
Our church leadership provides all of the material for our group leaders. It is intentionally written to aid in the discipleship process. We use what’s called “orality”, the art of story telling. We pair this with discussion questions in hopes that our groups engage in honest conversation and develop a knowledge of the stories of the Bible.
At times, we intentionally follow the messages and/or text of our Sunday services.
